Finding Lifespan Integration Therapy
I was trained as an Integrative therapist , this blog may give more information about what this actually is, What is Integrative Counselling?
In a nutshell it means that my training has given me permission and a framework within which I am encouraged to learn about all different types of therapeutic approaches. I then blend them together to meet the clients individual needs. I came across Lifespan Integration Therapy (https://lifespanintegration.com/) some years ago when it was used with my son. It worked well even though his needs were and are extremely complex. My book Loving Eric expands on this in more detail.
What is Lifespan Integration Therapy?
The therapy was developed by Peggy Pace & it is described on the website as:
‘Lifespan Integration is a gentle, body-based therapeutic method which heals without re-traumatizing….Lifespan Integration relies on the innate ability of the body-mind to heal itself. LI is body-based, and utilizes repetitions of a visual time line of memories to facilitate neural integration and rapid healing.’
I use Lifespan Integration Therapy ( LI) with most of my clients, to varying degrees. I find it is gentle but deep at the same time. It rewires the thinking and brings resolution to issues that leave scars from the past. It helps to remove blocks that prevent the client from living a fulfilling life. LI, together with other therapeutic models, heal wounds in a way that just using talking therapy cannot.
What can LI be used for?
LI can be useful for many issues:
- Trauma, PTSD & Complex PTSD
- Attachment issues ( Relational Issues)
- Anxiety
- Grief/loss
- Miscarriages
- Divorce..
